- Meditate, Walk, Journal - Mentally strong people “use healthy coping skills, such as meditation, walking, or journaling to deal with their stress,”
- Use stress as Energy - Musk was quoted saying, “Don't let stress sideline you. Instead, use it as fuel to keep rocketing ahead, maybe even all the way to Mars.” Instead of falling victim to his stress or letting it paralyze him, Musk uses it as energy.
- Follow a Routine Checklist - The solution to stress is to reduce the number of decisions you need to make by using routines.
- If This Then That - Another way to combat stress using if-then plans is to direct them at the experience of stress itself, rather than at its causes.
- Progress Not Perfection - See your work in terms of progress, not perfection. When you think about what you are doing in terms of learning and improving, accepting that you may make some mistakes along the way, you experience far less stress, and you stay motivated despite the setbacks that might occur.
Routines and checklists are the methods I am going to implement from today.
