  • Vertigo Effect...
  • The vertigo effect... also known as the Dolly Zoom, is where the subject remains still while the background expands or shrinks.
  • All I have to do is to walk towards my subject while zooming out to keep the subject at the same size.
  • The gimbal stabilizes the camera while I'm walking and the zoom control button keeps the zooming speed consistent.

  • Inception effect or mode...
  • Inception effect... where the world flips around
  • Inception effect...  That's the world flipping effect from the movie with the same name. 
  • This is easy... Just push the joystick left or right.
  • Con. The maximum angle of rotation is 300 degrees.

  • This is a review, not a sales video, so here are some issues...
  • I wish I can choose my own music in magic mode. Just like what GoPro Quik app can do.
  • Maybe the video editing app should be able to that after the shoot.
  • Magic mode sometimes records vertical when horizontal. Need to reset the app to resolve. 
  • Must unlock twice to work.
  • Sometimes it swings too fast and gets itself locked. 
  • I wish the blue tooth automatically connects. 
  • I wish the native camera will connect whenever the genie app is connected via Bluetooth.

My daily micro-videos are finally combined into a full YouTube video. The production is completely done on my Samsung Galaxy S10.


Is my micro-vlogging experiment successful?

Yes...

1. I get to have plenty of intermittent content to post in IG/FB stories, IG/FB Post, and Tiktok.

2. The edited micro vlogs are getting attention, like business partnerships proposals.

3. I get mini feedback, that improves the final storyline of the full video.

No...

- It takes too long... 5 days to complete a full YouTube video by myself.


What can make it faster? Don't do voice over, speak while shooting.

You can capture and edit video for a single scene from 2 or more cameras or for a single scene shot a few times with one camera. Here is a tutorial of a Multicamera Edit of a drama I shot. The drama was acted out four times to the public and being a non-profit organization, the client have budget only for one videographer. For each of the 4 acts, the camcorder (Sony HDR-FX7 High Definition Camcorder) was placed at 4 different positions and shot in various angles. Multicamera edit is accomplished in only 8 steps with the Sony Vegas Pro 8.
