How to stop my AI Robot Camerman from following me

Smart auto-tracking selfie sticks and phone mounts (like the TNW S30 Max or the Ulanzi TT23: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c3MhvQ9x) are handy for solo filming. But the moment you want to let the background stay still, the sensor keeps locking onto your face, spinning the rig around and throwing off your framing.

Here is how to take control of the auto-tracking tripod.

Mastering Gesture Control for Hands-Free Solo Filming

Most modern AI tracking mounts rely on built-in optical sensors with gesture recognition rather than a phone app. When you know the standard visual command triggers, you never have to walk over to the tripod to press a button.

3 Rules for Controlling AI Tracking Mounts

  1. Use the "Stop" Palm ✋ Gesture Clearly: To pause tracking instantly, hold up a flat, open palm facing the camera sensor for 1 to 2 seconds until the indicator light flashes (or changes color). Keep your hand steady and distinct from your body so the sensor registers the silhouette.

  2. Re-Engage with the "OK" Sign 👌: When you are ready for the gimbal to follow you again, flash the "OK" sign (thumb and index finger forming a circle) directly in front of the lens. The motor will re-lock onto your torso.

  3. Lock Frame Position for Product Demonstrations: If you are presenting a physical item, disable 360-degree face tracking before you begin the close-up. Let the camera remain static so the viewer's attention stays on the demonstration, not a wandering frame.

Understanding these simple gestures keeps your solo filming process smooth and eliminates unnecessary retakes.
