Testing a S$2.18 Portable Laptop Stand from Shopee SG: A Surprising Fit for My YoloBox Extreme

I recently bought a portable folding laptop stand from Shopee SG for just S$2.18. At that price point, I had to test it out live to see if a plastic bracket could actually hold up my daily gear. Get Yours Here: [https://s.shopee.sg/9Uxd1VwtGC]

As a Creative Solopreneur, I am consistently looking for practical ways to organize my desk setup without cluttering my workspace. I decided to unbox this stand on a live stream and put it through a few weight tests.

Here is what I found out.

The Build Quality and Setup. When the package arrived, the first thing I noticed was the weight. It is incredibly light because the entire frame is made of plastic rather than metal.

The stand features a hollow X-frame design with seven adjustable height slots. It also comes with a sheet of silicone non-slip rubber pads. You have to stick these pads on the frame yourself. The assembly is straightforward, but you need to make sure you align the pads correctly on the base so your equipment does not slide off.

The 15-Inch Laptop Test. The product page claims this stand can bear up to 15kg of weight. I decided to test that claim using my 15-inch laptop.

The result was not great. When placed on the stand, the laptop was wobbly. Because the stand is lightweight plastic, the typing experience was unstable. Pressing near the top of the laptop screen made the entire setup feel like it might tip over backward. If you have a large or heavy laptop, this specific stand is not going to provide the stability you need for daily work.

The YoloBox Extreme Setup. Since it struggled with a full-sized laptop, I tested it with my iPad. It held the tablet securely. However, the real reason I bought this inexpensive stand was for a very specific, unconventional use case.

I needed a better way to position my YoloBox Extreme. This is the primary device I use for live streaming. Because the YoloBox relies on a touchscreen interface, I need it within arm's reach when I am broadcasting. When I am not streaming, I want it completely out of the way, so I have room for video editing and writing.

I set the laptop stand to its lowest 50-degree angle. Then, I intentionally removed the bottom rubber pads so the plastic frame could slide smoothly across my desk.

It ended up being the exact size I needed. The YoloBox sits securely on the stand. I can slide the entire unit out toward me when I go live, and when I am finished, I simply push it back under my main computer monitor. It clears up my desk space instantly.

The Verdict: For $2.18, this folding stand is a highly functional piece of equipment as long as you understand its physical limits. It is a solid choice for tablets, mobile phones, or dedicated streaming monitors like the YoloBox Extreme. Just keep your heavy laptops off it.
