Yarra Valley Travel Blog: Wine, Cheese, Chocolate, and Gin-Fueled Bliss

Hook:

Indulging in wine, cheese, chocolate, and gin all in one day can lead to a delightful sensory overload.

Melbourne is a fantastic city, but sometimes you need a break from the urban hustle. That's exactly why I decided to hop on a one-day tour of the Yarra Valley with Dancing Kangaroo Tours. Spoiler alert: it was an absolute blast!

From City to Countryside

We started our day bright and early, departing from Melbourne city in a comfortable tour bus. Our guide, let's call him the "Kangaroo DJ," was instantly infectious with his energy, getting everyone pumped for the day ahead. The drive itself was scenic, with rolling hills and vineyards painting a picture-perfect backdrop.

Wine Wonderland

Our first stop was Soumah, a winery known for its stunning views and even better wines. We strolled through the vineyards, learning about the winemaking process, before settling down for a tasting. The Chardonnay was particularly memorable, crisp and refreshing.

Next up was Helen & Joey Estate, another gem in the Yarra Valley. The wines here were equally impressive, and the ambiance was even more intimate. We sipped on Pinot Noir and chatted with the friendly staff, soaking in the relaxed atmosphere.

Angus Beef and Beyond

Lunch was at Hubert Estate, and boy, did they deliver! I opted for the Angus beef burger, and it was a monster. Juicy, flavorful, and absolutely massive. As I devoured it, I learned that those huge black cows grazing outside were the very Angus cows that provided the beef. Talk about farm-to-table!

With our bellies full, we headed to Yarra Valley Dairy for a cheese tasting. The variety was impressive, from creamy brie to sharp cheddar. I couldn't resist buying a few to take home.

Chocolate Heaven

Next stop: Yarra Valley Chocolaterie. This place was my absolute favorite. The chocolate was divine, and the factory itself was a wonderland of cocoa creations. I sampled everything from truffles to rocky road, and left with a bag full of goodies (and a slightly sugar-high grin).

Gin-tastic Finale

Our final destination was Four Pillars Distillery, a haven for gin lovers. We learned about the distilling process and sampled a variety of their award-winning gins. The Rare Dry Gin was a standout, with its unique blend of botanicals.

Back to the City

As the sun began to set, we hopped back on the bus, feeling happy, slightly tipsy, and full of delicious memories. Our "Kangaroo DJ" kept the energy high all the way back to Melbourne, ensuring the good vibes continued.

Overall Impression

My Yarra Valley day trip was everything I hoped for and more. The combination of stunning scenery, incredible food and drinks, and a fantastic guide made it an unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a fun and fulfilling day trip from Melbourne, I can't recommend the Yarra Valley enough. And if you're lucky enough to have the "Kangaroo DJ" as your guide, you're in for an extra special treat!

Macbook Air M1 Case

I bought a transparent case for my MacBook Air M1 . It came with a free screen protector, a keyboard cover, and some rubber plugs to cover the ports. Check it out! https://youtu.be/d-wALSd3nn8 I didn't expect the rubber plugs. It was a nice surprise. The case fits snuggly, with access to all the ports. The keyboard cover is almost invisible to the eye. I have no intention to use the screen protector. Why? I need to see the true color of the display for my YouTube videos. ~ Adrian Lee  @Adrian Video Image  The video was recorded on iPhone 12 Pro Max with Filmic Pro app in 4K 60fps and edited with Capcut.

Sony Vegas Pro 8 Tutorial - Multicamera Editing

Sony Vegas Pro 8 makes it easier to edit videos from different cameras right from the timeline. You can capture and edit video for a single scene from 2 or more cameras or for a single scene shot a few times with one camera. Here is a tutorial of a Multicamera Edit of a drama I shot. The drama was acted out four times to the public and being a non-profit organization, the client have budget only for one videographer. For each of the 4 acts, the camcorder (Sony HDR-FX7 High Definition Camcorder) was placed at 4 different positions and shot in various angles. Multicamera edit is accomplished in only 8 steps with the Sony Vegas Pro 8. Step #1: Capture Multicamera Video Clips Use the normal Sony Vegas Video Capture function to capture recordings from each camera. Give each capture filename a unique name. Enable scene detection before capturing so that each segment is captured as a separate clip. Step #2 : Layout Video Clips on Timeline Drag and drop video clips over each other on the...
