The NearStream VM33 is a 2K resolution wireless live streaming camera designed for vloggers, streamers, and content creators seeking high-quality images. This is a Wireless Live Streaming Camera. In this video, I share my first impressions.
This is the NearStream VM33, the ideal solution for live event streamers who prefer to avoid the hassle of cables.

Given that this is a Live Streaming Camera, let's go Live.
I can stream live on YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, or a custom RTMP.
However, I must first log in to each platform.
I can only stream on one platform at a time.
I hope that one day, I can multi-stream and include TikTok as well.
For this test, I will go live on Facebook so I can share the link for you to view the results.

Unboxing the NearStream VM33
The VM33 arrived in a sleek, black box, with bright orange on the sides.
The front shows an image of the camera, with the text that reads "NearStream Wireless 2K Live Streaming Camera."
The bottom right-hand corner highlights two features, "1080p 60fps" and "App Control".
The back displays the model number, AW-VM33, and the manufacturer's details.
Printed on the side are the promises of "Maximum 2K Quality," "NearStream App Control," and the ability to "Live Stream Anywhere."
Now, let's open the box.
What's Inside the Box
Upon opening the box, I found the following items:
- User Manual... It shows the parts of the VM33, product specifications, and several warnings. Notably, "do not use the product while walking," and "the device is restricted to indoor use only." I am sure I can use it for outdoor sports broadcasts at least under the shelter.
- Quick Start Guide... This provides instructions on installing the NearStream Multicam App and connecting the camera to the app via WiFi and Bluetooth.
- Warranty Card... I need to register my warranty information to activate a one-year warranty from the date of purchase.
- USB-C to USB-C Data Cable with a standard USB Adapter... Used for charging and connecting the camera to a computer.

First Impressions
My first impression? It's larger and heavier than I imagined.
The lens is bigger than my thumb!
I wish there was a lens cover to protect it.
It's got a clean-cut minimalistic design.
Looks and feels professional too.
Specs and Overview
Let’s take a closer look at the NearStream VM33.In front is a 5MP HD Lens and a Function Indicator Light.
On top are 8 microphones!
At the bottom, there is a 1/4-inch Tripod Interface.
I am amazed at how flat the back is and has so many things on it.
First, there is the Power Button. Press and hold for 2 seconds to turn on the camera.
The Battery Indicator Light shows the power level of the built-in rechargeable battery that can last 6 hours. Like many other electronic devices, the battery is not removable.
A 3.5mm audio input port for external microphones.
A USB-C port for charging or connecting to a computer.
A TF Card Slot to insert an external Micro SD Card for recording.
Finally, a Reset button.
I won't cover the product specifications but feel free to pause and read them.
Installing the App
It’s the moment we’ve been waiting for – the hands-on test of the NearStream VM33!
First things first, let’s install the "NearStream Multicam App".
Scan the QR code from the Quick Start Guide.
You can also go to the App Store or Play Store to search "NearStream Multicam".
Download and install the app.
Connecting the App
When I first opened the NearStream Multicam App, it started searching for cameras nearby.
So I turned on the V33... and the camera was detected.
The connection is via Bluetooth because my Bluetooth is turned on.
Go to setup and choose the Wifi option.
Tap on next. Select a wifi and enter the password.
Turn on Connect then Continue.
The camera is then connected wirelessly via Wifi.
Connecting to Streaming Platforms
In the Video panel of the app, I can choose to go Live or Record the video.Given that this is a Live Streaming Camera, let's go Live.
I can stream live on YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, or a custom RTMP.
However, I must first log in to each platform.
Streaming in 1080p
Now that I have logged into each platform, I'm ready to start streaming.I can only stream on one platform at a time.
I hope that one day, I can multi-stream and include TikTok as well.

Streaming in 2K
Since this is a 2K video resolution camera, I am going to stream in 2K.
However, it seems I can only stream in 1080p on Facebook and Twitch.
On YouTube though, I can set the stream to 2K or even 4K.
But first I have to switch the "Camera Input Quality".
Tap on the gear icon in the top right-hand corner. Select Camera Input Quality. Choose 1440p.
Go back to Live. Choose Youtube. I can see that YouTube is ready to stream at 1440p.
Let's go live.

External Webcam for OBS Streaming
Is it possible to use this camera as a webcam and stream through OBS?Connect a USB cable from the computer to the VM33's back.
In OBS, add a new 'Video Capture Device'.
Select 'NearStream VM33' and I have a 2K webcam for OBS streaming!
Advanced Features
Up to now, I have only used the basic features of the NearStream VM33. There are a lot of advanced features such as NDI, multicam switching, overlay graphics, picture-in-picture, multiview, audio mixing, external microphones, music playlists, SD card recordings, transitions, and more that I have yet to explore.
