I caught this footage while waiting for a corporate dinner to start. This was at the south western beach of Sentosa Island, Singapore. The video camera was shooting like only 15 minutes non-stop. I wanted to shoot more but I have work to do, especially when the sun was closer to the horizon. The horizon is rather unique. Unlike most tropical island sunset images, this one has container cranes and smoke chimneys sticking out. The video clip is for sale as a royalty-free stock footage at Pond5. What I love best about my job is the food. Especially the food from a 5 or 6-star hotel. Get paid to eat and drink. That's lifestyle! This video is a snippet of a recent 1-week video shooting stint. Tour with me along Singapore River on an electric-powered bumboat. YES! the bumboats are now powered by battery. No smoke, no smell. The boats cannot go as fast as before, the bumboat operator told me. Anyway, it's a river cruise. Save the Earth! My foreign friends got to sip Singapore Sling in Raffles Hotel. Throw peanut shells all over the Long Bar without getting fined. You haven't visited Singapore if you haven't seen the Merlion and the ERP. Sentosa is a haven for peacocks, though I saw more of peahens and peachicks. OK, not just get paid to eat, but also travel and tour. I love my job. This is a picture of my old but trusty video editing Acer laptop. Though it has Sony Vegas Pro 8, I am using Vegas 4 for speedier delivery. I am in a little dark corner of a room with a cup of hot tea, editing the video of a training workshop which is going on right now. Video editing on the fly is required when client wants to watch the video at the end of the day. Here are 4 steps to produce a video quickly: Plan the video sequence: Study the event program. Rearrange the sequence to form an interesting storyline. Start and end with a bang. Leave the light moments in between. Draw a flow chart on paper. Shoot for edit: With the video sequence flow chart on hand, shoot the video exactly how you want the shot to appear. Take extra footages for more choice. Cover at least 3 main shots: wide, mid and close-up. Edit ruthlessly: Editing takes up the most time. Select your best shots quickly and cut away the rest.
