Some new features found in the HD Power Pack include:

  • AVCHD Authoring
    HD content from virtually any HD source including HDV and AVCHD camcorders as well as recorded HDTV programs can now be authored and burned to a standard DVD using a standard recorder. Users can play back DVDs in PS™3 or Blu-ray Disc players.
  • BDMV Authoring
    Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 Plus users can now author HD productions in MPEG 2 HD format with High Definition motion menus and burn them to single- or double-layer Blu-ray Disc.
  • HD DVD Advanced Content Authoring
    Users can now enhance HD DVD productions with interactive “Type II” HD DVD Advanced Menus. Advanced Menus pop up over the video so a new chapter or title can be selected.
  • HD DVD on Standard DVD Authoring
    Users can easily author HD DVD productions with motion menus and record them on standard single- or double-layer DVDs. Users simply choose a disc size and the capacity indicator displays how much space is available on the disc.
  • M2TS (Transport Stream) Import
    Video files can now be imported directly from any AVCHD hard drive or memory card camcorder. Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 Plus also opens M2TS files copied to the hard drive using other utilities.

Sony Vegas Pro 8 makes it easier to edit videos from different cameras right from the timeline. You can capture and edit video for a single scene from 2 or more cameras or for a single scene shot a few times with one camera. Here is a tutorial of a Multicamera Edit of a drama I shot. The drama was acted out four times to the public and being a non-profit organization, the client have budget only for one videographer. For each of the 4 acts, the camcorder (Sony HDR-FX7 High Definition Camcorder) was placed at 4 different positions and shot in various angles. Multicamera edit is accomplished in only 8 steps with the Sony Vegas Pro 8.
